Barbara Hinkle-Azzara, RHIA, Chief Product Strategist for Meta Health Technology

Barbara Hinkle-Azzara, RHIA, is the Chief Product Strategist for Meta Health Technology, a leading HIM software vendor in New York City.  She joined Meta in 2007 to oversee the direction and functionality of the company’s suite of products.   Prior to joining Meta, Barbara served as Director of HIM in three acute care teaching facilities in New York City.   In her years as Director of HIM, she played a key role on various vendor product steering committees and implementation teams for new products, including document imaging and clinical systems.  She also has extensive experience with the revenue cycle improvement process. 

Barbara has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Record Administration from Bowling Green State University (OH).  She is an active member of AHIMA, NYHIMA, HIMANYC and the Association of Clinical Documentation Specialists. She also serves on the AHIMA Exhibit Advisory Committee (EAC).
